Starting in Spring 2025, Atelier Balena Kindergarten
will introduce a new International Course.
Our kindergarten has long been influenced by global educational approaches, such as English immersion programs and the Reggio Emilia Approach (Italy). To further enhance these initiatives, we are launching this new International Course to provide children with deeper learning experiences and a broader platform for growth.
Background and Purpose of
the New International Course
Early childhood is a period when children absorb diverse values and cultures like a sponge soaking up water. Through experiences of both success and failure, they develop a well-rounded personality.
Additionally, many parents have expressed their wishes:
“I want my child to receive intensive English education.”
“I want my child to grow up in a global environment.”
In response to these voices, we have decided to establish the International Course.
In this new course, classes will be designed with native English-speaking teachers and certified Japanese kindergarten teachers to ensure children acquire English naturally while following the same curriculum as the general course. Furthermore, we will introduce programs that foster an international perspective in a global classroom environment, providing children with even deeper and more meaningful learning experiences.
Features of the International Course

Native English-speaking teachers will co-lead classes.
Children will naturally acquire English through daily life experiences.

Not just English lessons, but also interactive play and daily activities will help children develop their language skills in a fun and engaging way.

Learning in a dual-immersion environment fosters an understanding of diversity and respect for others.
